Pueblo City Schools
Pueblo, CO |
 |
Pueblo City Schools was an early example of a large Title 1 District that closed the achievement gap. In 1998, Lindamood-Bell partnered with the district to provide extensive professional development and implement innovative, research-based instructional programs in classrooms and intervention settings. This collaboration continues to positively affect student achievement on a district-wide level. |
Since 1998, the partnership has been recognized at local, state, and national levels. The district-wide model was analyzed in 2006 in theAmerican Educational Research Journal(AERJ). This peer-reviewed study found that "Statistically significant and increasing gains favoring the Lindamood-Bell reading intervention was found both overall and in analysis of Title I schools." The authors concluded, "In effect, PSD60 went by the book in producing large-scale reform with much success." Click here to see highlights from the AERJarticle. |
| For the 2008-09 school year, Pueblo City Schools is one of 25 comprehensive school models that Lindamood-Bell is involved with across the country. Lindamood-Bell continues to provide ongoing professional development and certification throughout the district with the goal of maintaining a high level of program quality and effectiveness. Lindamood-Bell is an approved provider for Colorados Closing the Achievement Gap initiative. |
