Nanci Bell, M.A., is a co-founder and the Director of Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes.  She is also the author of Visualizing & Verbalizing™, Seeing Stars® and co-author of On Cloud Nine® Maths, Talkies, See Time Fly, and Vanilla Vocabulary.

Nanci’s background is in the field of reading, with extensive experience in the clinical treatment of language and literacy disorders.  After course work at Harvard University, she developed the concept that imagery is a critical factor in language comprehension and analytical thinking.  Primarily interested in solutions, she developed specific steps to stimulate concept imagery (Visualizing & Verbalizing™ / Talkies) and later applied that research to the development of her programme to improve reading fluency and accuracy (Seeing Stars®).  This concept is now widely studied as term by Dr. Alan Paivio as DCT (Dual Coding Theory).

To maintain quality control of content and support materials, Nanci also founded Gander Publishing, the sole provider for all Lindamood-Bell® support materials.

Nanci continues to be the Director of Lindamood-Bell.

Patricia C. Lindamood, M.S., CCC-SLP, was a co-founder and Director of Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes.  She was also the co-author of the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® (LiPS™) Programme.

Pat’s background in speech-language pathology and audiology and her husband’s background in linguistics led to their early interest and seminal research in phonemic awareness/auditory conceptual function, and its predictive relationship to reading and spelling development.  Their clinical experience and research resulted in a diagnostic test and treatment programme for phonemic awareness/auditory conceptual function that are in use nationally and internationally.

The Human Learning and Behavior branch of National Institute of Health has funded multiple research studies involving the Lindamood® concepts.  Pat’s professional experience included public school, university, and hospital settings, in addition to private practice and adjunct instructor for University of California.
